Just be

The clock has struck one AM, the drops of rain patter against the pane

Each tap on the glass vibrates around the silent room

The owl hoots in the distant inky black sky

Not a star shining within the darkness

And I sit suspended in time

not daring to breathe

nor sigh

nor blink

nor imagine….

for if I dare to see an image of beauty

within this emotionless visage

would I be left disappointed if it were not to

transpire?

Or would it be wiser to inhale sharply

snap open the window

Submerge my face within the droplets

taking a moment to allow my mind to

see the miracle

For every tear that falls feeds the nature all around

Each one requiring the other to exist

Breathe in, absorb the aroma

the life

Breathe out

and

smile

blink

repeat

just

be
